What will you do to demonstrate your commitment to work health and safety?
Conduct monthly WHS meetings in line with team meetings, pre- start toolboxes and have training exercises focusing on different WHS topics. We will keep company WHS Policies and Procedures current and ensure all workers and visitors are consulted.
What will you do to make sure your business has the capability to put in place safe systems, procedures and policies?
Assign a full time employee dedicated to the development and improvement of WHS. Provide resources to ensure adequate training. Reflect on new WHS information and continuously review policies and procedures to improve relevance.
What will you do to ensure that your workers have the skills and attitudes to work safely?
Supply adequate training, skills, equipment, knowledge, positive reinforcement, and disciplinary actions for non- compliance. Maintain adequate induction and training process. Review past incidents and injuries to identify areas of improvement.
What will you do to create a safe physical and mental environment?
Provide a safe and comfortable platform for employees to raise concerns that can lead to improvements. Promote safe work practices through meetings and policies. Encourage positive communication throughout all departments and consideration of others.
What will you do to make sure that clear and relevant information flows through your organisation?
Multiple points to communicate WHS policies and procedures, such as, monthly meetings, WHS Committee, toolbox meetings, newsletters, policies and procedures. Have a defined reporting structure for any WHS issues, which flows through the business.
