What will you do to demonstrate your commitment to work health and safety?
Recently I have been made into WHS Officer were I work, I have worked in the trades for 20 odd years and having this role I have committed myself to the ongoing task of keeping the people Safe and to be able to go home to their families each night.
What will you do to make sure your business has the capability to put in place safe systems, procedures and policies?
I work in FMS and with the aid of the Universities HR WHS I look at Safe work practices to comply with Safe Systems, Procedures and Policies.
What will you do to ensure that your workers have the skills and attitudes to work safely?
In my role as FMS WHS Officer I interact with the office and trade staff, twice a month we have Toolbox talks were I will go over Accidents and Incidents that have occurred within the Facility. We will develop and use a new training check lists.
What will you do to create a safe physical and mental environment?
In having the Toolbox talks we have, I can develop a personal comradery with the workers and in turn this will give the workers confidence to be able to come to me if they have issues they find were they need to talk to someone.
What will you do to make sure that clear and relevant information flows through your organisation?
The consultation with my WHS HR and workers Toolbox meetings we can develop clear concise and relevant information which will carry on to help everyone work Safe.
